This comes after increased insecurity, shooting and looting in the country. According to Punch, Buratai is presently holding a meeting with Principal Staff Officers and top army commanders on the security situation in the country. The meeting which is being held at the Army Headquarters in Abuja commenced at about 10.20am. In attendance were the General Officers Commanding of all the divisions of the Nigerian Army, commanders of the various army operations, unit commanders, commander, Guards Brigade, and other top officers. IPOB said this arises from their roles in the 30-month Nigeria Civil War in which many Igbo people were killed. The group said revelations by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, would unearth the facts during his trial. It said such facts have actually started emerging based on the vow of Kanu to “sink” Nigeria with the truth as he threatened during his last court appearance. In a statement in Awka, Anambra State by itss Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB warned on the danger of the continued detention of its leader.
