Lekki Shooting: Buratai Meets Top Army Commanders

Following the shooting of Lekki protesters in Lagos, the Chief Of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has met with top army commanders.

This comes after increased insecurity, shooting and looting in the country.

According to Punch, Buratai is presently holding a meeting with Principal Staff Officers and top army commanders on the security situation in the country.

The meeting which is being held at the Army Headquarters in Abuja commenced at about 10.20am.

In attendance were the General Officers Commanding of all the divisions of the Nigerian Army, commanders of the various army operations, unit commanders, commander, Guards Brigade, and other top officers.

The parley is against the backdrop of the violence and vandalism in parts of the country.

The nation has been gripped by violence in the past one week with some hoodlums attacking and vandalising public and private property.

Many others embarked on the looting of warehouses where COVID-19 palliatives were kept.

The homes and property of individuals, including banks, shopping malls and small stores were similarly looted.

I walked out of Wal Mart today and got in my car. As I began to pull out, I had to wait for a man in a wheelchair to pass by. As I watched him, I noticed that he was missing his right leg from the knee down and was wearing, what appeared to be, old, government issued, combat boots. He was (from my guess) in his late sixties/early seventies and seemed to be stopping to take a break. He had not realized that I had started my car and was attempting to pull out, so when he saw me, he waved in an apologetic manner and rolled forward three more times and took another break. Missing 7-year-old girl found dead with multiple matchet cuts in a bush in Osun State

A 7-year-old girl, who was declared missing days ago was found dead in a bush in Iree Town, Osun State. The spokesperson of the Osun Sate Police Command, Mrs Folashade Odoro, who confirmed the incident on Wednesday, February 15th, in Osogbo, said the body was discovered near a sawmill by Chief Oluode of Iree and later reported to the police. "Upon receiving the information, police quickly deployed a search party to the scene and the body was discovered with visible matchet cuts" Mrs Odoro said the case is being investigated as a possible murder as police suspected a foul play in the circumstance surrounding the death of the girl. Alexandr Morgan Wheeler believes she found her angel outside a local Walmart. The 21-year-old from Fayetteville, West Virginia, met a man who was struggling to cross the street Wednesday. Once she spotted him, she felt the urge to get out and ask if she could assist him, but the man, who she believes is in his 60s or 70s, said he didn’t need any help.
